Apple is in love with the iPhone. The Mac is an old flame with fond memories, but the excitement once reserved for each new Mac OS X and each new Mac upgrade is gone; replaced by OLED displays and 2-million apps.

How much longer we and our Macs remain on life support has yet to be determined, but the end can be told from the handwriting on the wall. Apple is a corporation. Corporations are people, too. People are fickle and disloyal and subject to acting upon whims, following trends, and conveniently forgetting the past.
