Every technology company strives to differentiate itself from competitors. How does Apple differentiate itself from Samsung, HP, Dell, Lenovo, Google, et al? Since premium products share similar hardware, macOS and iOS come to mind.
I see a contradiction with Apple’s stance on privacy. Private over there, not so private over here. What has happened above all else is that Apple has turned privacy into a buzzword.
