T.T. O’Brien has the solution to smartphone robocalls.
The robocall plague has reached the point where I will not accept an incoming call– not even to answer it– if I don’t know who is calling. Simply put, I need your phone number in Contacts before I’m going to answer a call on my iPhone.
Who can help? Apple.
Already Apple has a pop up notice for obvious scam calls on iPhone, but that needs to go a couple of steps into the future, up to but not quite including hanging convicted robocall operators by their testicles in the Mall.
All Apple needs to do is have a Robocall button. Got a robocall? Press the button and the number is added to Apple’s robocall database, which ten gets downloaded back to iPhones to prevent future robocalls.
Ouch. And, yes.
