Kate found a big hole in the technology behind Apple’s App Store subscription process.
Without thinking about it, Apple turned that technology into a club to beat customers over the head. How so? App subscriptions. Or, rather, rental apps. Pay by the month or pay by the year, but keep paying just to use the app.
Airmail users are puking all over the interwebs today thanks to this very shortsighted adjustment. Airmail moved the iOS price tag to $10 a year, or $3 per month (minus a penny) so you can see what they want. Annual subscriptions.
The comments are pretty raw. Airmail is toast and dead to me.
